In Australia, around year 11 in high school is the time where students participate in work experience.
I pulled out the phonebook (you couldn't just google it) and I looked up 'Recording Studios'.
I found 'Access Audio'.
I called the number and a fellow named Danny answered. He was more than happy to have me come in for a week to see what it's like.
A few months later I headed up to Blair Athol and walked into my first studio!

I'd just started writing and recording my own demos at home not too long before and before long, I was spending just about every spare second I had there with Danny as he taught me about production.
This completely changed my life and the trajectory of what I thought was possible.

For years I have hidden this. It's taken a long time for enough years to pass for me to accept 'Yep, you weren't as good a singer as you thought you were', but this is where I came from and I'm so glad I’m old enough to finally be very proud of this.
